PictureChristine Dioky, special events and marketing director with Dawn Brannan, President of the Kiwanis Club of Topsail Island Area.
Christine Divoky, Special Events and Marketing Director, is responsible for all aspects of Historic Wilmington Foundation’s special event planning and marketing as well as working with the Executive Director on fundraising. Today, Christine described the upcoming tour of homes in the Historic Districts of Wilmington as part of the NC Azalea Festival coming up April 11- 15, 2018. The houses on this year's tour range from simple bungalows to the mind's eye of the typical southern mansion.  Some homes are completely restored to their past historic period, while others are in various stages of restoration.  Docents will help explain the culture and past of each of the homes on this year's tour.

The North Carolina Azalea Festival Home Tour (April 14 and 15th) is an annual event held by the Historic Wilmington Foundation. Proceeds from the Home Tour advance the Historic Wilmington Foundation’s efforts to protect and preserve the irreplaceable historic resources of Wilmington and the Lower Cape Fear region. Since 1966, the foundation has successfully saved more than 100 historic properties from demolition. For more information on the Historic Wilmington Foundation, please click here.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 starting Saturday of the Azalea Festival.
Tickets are now available online (click here). Beginning Thursday March 22nd, tickets will be available at all area Harris Teeters including the Surf City Crossing location. Tickets are good for the entire weekend.  Tour goers can attend either or both days, and can start and end at any point along the route.
